Bio

As a second career educator, LaQuanda Atkins’ teaching experience began in 2007 as a Temporary Instructor. While teaching in this capacity, she was able to establish meaningful connections with her students and collaborative rapports with faculty members. It was through this experience where she solidified her career transition and returned to school in pursuit of a degree in Education.
Mrs. Atkins earned her bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education with endorsements in Reading and ESOL from Miami Dade College. She is currently a Special Education K-2 Resource Teacher in the Mobile County Public School System who is a passionate, student-centered educator continually seeking to improve learning. She has dedicated herself to becoming a life-long educator and learner, and she strives to instill similar aspirations in her students. Her philosophy is that every student can succeed and that they each have their own unique strength that flourishes in conducive environments.
