Bio

My name is Sharon Inge.  I am going into my 15th year of teaching.  I am a proud product of the Mobile County Public School System.  I received my high school diploma from C.F. Vigor School in 1985.  I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mobile. I received my Master Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama.

My Philosophy:

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.

I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility.  I will do my best this year to ensure that each child student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom.  However, I cannot do this alone:  I need your help.  We both need to be partners in the learning process.  I need each of you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments, and help them study for test, if necessary.  I will keep you informed of all assignments and subjects that are covered in class with a weekly summary.

I believe that ALL children can succeed when they are surrounded by a supportive home and school environment.

Experiences:

I worked as a Daycare Director for ten years before I decided to go back to school.  I did an Interim in first grade at Craighead Elementary School.  I did my student teaching at Woodcock Elementary School.  My first year of teaching (second grade) was at Brazier Elementary School.   I taught second grade at Collins-Rhodes for seven years. With that being said I am ecstatic to have the privilege of “Changing Minds” at Leinkauf Elementary School.  Go Leprechaun
